Roman Vehovský

Professional hitchhiker and amateur photographer Roman Vehovský and his multimedia presentation of the book On the Way of Fate and Coincidence.

When in 2002 Roman Vehovský said good-bye to his homeland Czech Republic, he did not suspect that his “trip” will be prolonged to seven years. With the idea of getting through India all the way to Australia by land, he hit the road. Without an airline ticket, without any ticket. Only hitchhiking. He had less than most of us take for a regular two-week vacation. But he had a dream...

On Saturday evening Roman Vehovský will talk about his dream coming true. In his presentation he will tell us about his journey on which he took only things that can get into the backpack and money made on farms or by selling his photographs, about advantages and disadvantages of solo travelling, without planning and depending on timetables, hotels, hostels or lodging houses. In the second part he will talk about his most beautiful hitch – ten days sailing on the yacht at gorgeous tropical islands of Thailand and present his pictures from Phuket vegetarian festival.
